CAB file corrupted for E6430?!

I can´t extract E6230-xp-A03-K0PCP.CAB. it says it´s corrupted. I tried 7-zip, WinZip and extract command-line. Does not work. It worked fine for the Windows 7 cab file.

Downloaded using different webbrowsers too.

Any ideas?

Hi MicSan,

May I know the operating system installed on the computer?

Windows XP has a utility that will decompress files from within a cabinet file. It's called the System Configuration Utility.

  • Click on the Start Menu.
  • Click on the Run item.
  • Type msconfig (with no quotes) into the dialog box and click OK.
  • Click on the General Tab in the box that appears and press the Expand File button.
  • Fill in the fields with the name of the file to expand, the cabinet file it's in, and the location where you want the file.
  • Click on OK and Windows will do the expansion.

If the issue persists, refer the following links for more troubleshooting:

Above solution does not work, same result as before, "corrupt file"

Ended up using the older "Revision #2" version of the drivers... not good, but i can extract that cab file!

Hi MicSan,

Each file compressed in a .cab file is stored completely within a single folder. A .cab file may contain one or more folders or portions of a folder.

May I know what files are you trying to download?

Does it happen only with one particular .CAB file or other .CAB files as well?

Try to do a fresh download of the file and extract.

Download

  • Click the Download Now link to download the file.
  • When the File Download window appears, click Save to save the file to your hard drive.

Extract Files

  • Browse to the location where you downloaded the file and double-click the new file to unzip the download package.
  • Specify the location to unzip the files.
  • Click on the unzip button to extract files.
  • To View User's Guide double-click on the index.htm file to view the contents of the User's Guide.

Awaiting your response!

Hi,

The problem I am having stems from 3 different networks with different internet speeds, is that the download of E6430 CAB file is so ssslllllooooowww i.e. 33kbps....it takes 12+ hours to download and then fails half way (size: 200 -400MB) when it should be 900+ MB. I managed to get the cab for the E6420 though without any hassles. Please advise if Dell has a mirror or alternate link.

We are doing a roll-out with Windows Deployment Server and I need these drivers urgently.

Downloading them one by one is going to take forever.

Thanks

You can remove the "-us" from the download link (see below) and it may find a local mirror if you are outside the United States.  We had some issues early on when we tried to remove the "-us" to localize the downloads, so we had to leave it in our links.  Let me know if that helps with your download.
