R710 - Idrac and internet

I hope this is the right place for this I do apoligise if this isnt the right area to be asking the questions.

Hi,

I currently own a r710 poweredge server and hope to purchase a few more once I can get a full understanding of how it works.

I have setup server 2016 and so far so good. I recently understood that I could not do a full remote access with applications etcc.. unless I use Idrac6 which I have also recently purchased and so far working as it should in a test enviroment.

My problem I have understanding is the logic between having a internet connection between the server and also using the idrac for remote access.

I have setup the Idrac6 as dedicated for remote access and my routing will be:

Modem Router, firewall with built vpn functions and then server. I want to be able to use this as a webserver and general testing for numerous other applications but I want to know what is the best option for routing this server without comprising the security of the server.

I dont know if I keep a setup ethernet cable for the idrac6 enterprise and then run another cable to is it NIC1 on the same switch. I have read numerous articles and searched for hours looking for the right answer to this.
