PowerEdge T620/Ultrium LTO6 Error Code 5

Hello,

Our LTO drive is showing error code 5 on the front panel LED, which I think is an I/O error. Any suggestions how I might resolve this error?

Error code 5 is Read failure where isolation is uncertain and failure could be due to a faulty tape or to faulty drive hardware. We have tried a working Tape and a Cleaning tape which made no difference.

Updated the firmware for the tape drive controller and the tape drive but with no luck. Re-seated the SAS cable and issue remains the same. This concludes the tape drive is faulty and needs replacement.

As discussed in the email, should you wish to proceed with the replacement, please revert to the same mail to arrange the quote.
