Adding SAS HDD as a separate volume. Poweredge t620
Im a newbie so please excuse me. I want to add a HDD to a Power Edge T620. I do not want to add it to the raid. I want to use it as a separate drive volume, such as drive E:. What do I need to do? I see the HDD in Open Manage. Will not let me do nothing with it. I also see it in raid configuration. I do not want to add to the raid I have. I'm at a loss. If i initialize the hdd will it initialize the existing raid and wipe it out?

Hi,
Thank you for contacting the dedicated Out of Warranty forum for PowerEdge products. We have sent you a private message on the forum in order to get the Service Tag of your PowerEdge Server.
Kind Regards,

I am not close by to get that number. What I am asking is not a issue with the server. A t620 is a t620... correct? Its a knowledge issues in what to do to make it work.
