Dell Equallogic PS6210 raid expansion

Hi,

I have a Dell Equallogic PS6210, I've installed like 12 disks (SSD) in it and configured a RAID6. Then i installed more 12 disks (HDD) but they are in failed state. Are they supposed to initialize automatically?

My ideia is to somehow separate de SSD disks and HDD disks for different purposes. Can I create 2 different RAIDs? What is the best way to do this separation?

Thanks

You cant expand a "All Flash" EqualLogic with spinning disks.   There was once only a single Modell which acts as a Hybrid and called PS6410xs for example. The "xs" was  7xSSD and 17 10K HDDs and with a fixed (accelerated) RAID6.

Beyond than one exception all EQLs have 50 or 100% diskcount and all media are from same type and size. Yes... technicly a drive can be larger (because Dell cant deliver small disks as a replacement) but than not all space was allocated.

Hint: Only EQL labeld disks are supportet.

Joerg
