"Unable to connect" when starting DX FS Manager Admin
We installed a clean DX6.1 in a Windows 2000 native domain. Add all the DX admin account etc. When we add a Domain user to the local DX Admin group we cannot start the DX admin tool.
We get an error like:
"The administrator was unable to connect to the DiskXtender server on SVP202124. Access to the server has been denied because the user is not a member of the DiskXtender Administrators security group on the server computer. (Error code: 1321)"
When we add a Local user (instead of a Domain user) to the Local DX Admin group, everything works fine. Also when we add the Domain user to the Domain Admin group it works fine. But due to security policies this all is not allowed.
Any suggestions how to fix this issue ?
Thanks,
Andre

Yes, the domain user is member of both DX local groups (DX Admin & DX users) and the Domain User has those 3 rights. (but i think these 3 extra rights are only necessary for the DX service account and not for a DX FS Manager Admin user)
But we still get the error when we logged on as a domain user.
Any more suggestions ??
Thanks,
Andre

Is the domain user added to the DxUsers group as well? If not, try that. Make sure the domain user is a member of the Administrators group on the Dx Server.
Also, make sure the domain user has the following rights:
Log on as a Service
Act as part of the OS
Log on Locally
Giving the user those 3 rights, along with being a member of the DxAdministrators and DxUsers groups, should allow you to connect tot he Dx Admin while logged on as that user.

We used several different Domain accounts and we have this issue on 2 different DX servers.
We opened SR613832 for this, but they want us to reinstall the Windows OS. But thats not an option for our production servers.
I think we need to escalate ......
Thanks,
Andre

If you have an open SR already, please work with your Technical Support Engineer to get the case escalated.

You might want to open a Support Ticket and have someone take a look at it for you.
The only other thing I can think to try would be to create a new Domain User, and add it to all of the groups and see if that works (this would be to rule out the possibility of a problem with that specific domain user account)
