Two issues, icon disappears and license event.
I have just finished setting up a new extended disk and have two issues. One email messages that are saved on our file server that get purged loose the icon and it shows up blank. Second I have the following message in the event viewer:
0ABC DiskXtender capacity license has been exceeded. I entered the license key from the file I received when I registered through the website so I am not sure what else needs to be added.
Thanks,
Bob

With regards to the file icons, this is functionality/behavior of Dx files having the Windows "Offline" attribute. It appears as though Windows is unable to associate an icon with some files when they are marked as "Offline" (i.e. purged by DiskXtender). You can test this by downloading any utility that will allow you to give files the Offline attribute. Test this on a non-DiskXtender managed NTFS partition, and you should see the same behavior.
With regards to your license error, you will need to run Setup for DiskXtender. Once you launch Setup, choose the option "Edit Product License Information". Click next, and type in the DNS name of the server where License Server is installed. Complete the DiskXtender Setup. This should resolve the license issue.
You were most likely running in an evaluation mode for DiskXtender, and acquired the license later. When you do this, just adding the License in License Server is not enough. You'll need to tell DiskXtender where to look for a License, and the above steps I provided will do that for you.
Hope this helps.

1. Delete the 'iconcache.db' file from the profile of the logged in user if one exists.
2. In Windows Explorer, select Tools -> Folder Options. On the 'View' tab, check the box next to 'Do not cache thumbnails'
3. Log off of Windows and back on.
4. Select a file to fetch it.
5. Press F5 to refresh the Explorer window while the file is still selected.
Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I apologize that there isn't a more permanent solution to this, but it appears as though there are some file icons which need the file to be fetched (not offline) in order to access information about the icon.
