Relocate NAS Media

Hi,

I want to replace my NAS media allocated to my DiskXtender.

By the manual I should run a Compact task, that restores all my files back to primary storage, then delete tha old NAS media, add new one and start purging files to new NAS media. This means that I need much storage on my primary storage, which of course I don't have

But is there any reason I shouldn't do the job like this: ?

1. Create new storage on my NAS server

2. Take NAS media offline in DX

3. Copy data from old storage to new storage in NAS server (wtih hidden files)

4. Delete the old share from NAS and share the new storage exactly as the old one.

5. Take NAS media online in DX

This would be so much easier and faster.

I also tested this on my test environment and everything seemed to work also

Does anybody have any drawbacks with this plan?

Regards,

Jarkko
