Need to salvage files from Centera

All,

I selected the wrong area to archive from my centera. Before I stopped it, it looks like it archived about 1000 files. I want to know how to salvage the files from the centera? I tried to do a file restore in the media task. However that failed because it says the files are dups even though they have been archived. And when I attempt to remove the media from the media group I don't get the option to salvage.

The rention on the Centera is infinite

I am running DX 6.5 SP1.

thanks,

-Al

Hi Albert,

I understand that you want to remove the files from Centera and re-archive them to a different piece of media. Is this understanding correct? If so, you can do a compact media task to demigrate files from a media. Once you do that DX related migration information is removed from the files on the extended drive. You could then correct the media and then schedule a background scan again to archive.

Regards,

Vinod

I actually resolved this yesterday by doing this:

dxdmchk /fetch /s /y Extended_Drive\Path

And make sure your schedule is enabled to allow fetches.
