How MediaStor Windows handle offline media?
Hi!,
I am wondering what MediaStor manual said is true..
I installed mediastor in a windows server which its FC drive data will be archived to the Tape Library connected to it. I managed to successfully archive the files across to the tape in the library leaving the pointer at the FC. I purposely and properly ejected the tape with the archived content from the tape library by using "manage media" from mediastor.
The problem now is, when i tried to access one of the pointers from the FC drive with direct read option, the file opened with blank and prompted with OS generated typical error message instead of the prompt from mediastor to instruct me to put in xxxxx media for being able to access the pointer. I could not see any message from mediastor that the manual said.
Does anyone has ever seen this prompt message from mediastor? if yes, what are the steps that need to be done?
Thank you.

"From the Manage Library Media dialog box, you can eject a piece of MediaStor media
or some quantity of the least frequently used media from a library. MediaStor
continues to track ejected media and prompts you to reinsert the media when read
and write requests are received."
I've never seen the product prompt as described.

"You can setup alerts to be sent via email from the DX Admin GUI.
Go to Service -> Properties -> Alerts Tab
There you can setup which email address should be used for warnings and
errors notification.
If not, you will need to check the DX logs as frequent as possible for
error and warning messages.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
If not, can I get your consent to close this SR?
Thanks.
