How do I move files from old NAS media to new NAS media?

We have DiskXtender version 5.60.049 for Windows, we have an extended drive which archives files to NAS media. Our NAS media is about to be changed for a new NAS server.

I have setup the shares and given the appropriate access rights but I would like to know how do I move the entire archive from old NAS media to the new NAS media without losing files or causing problems with our DiskXtender.

Many thanks,
Mark

I think there's 2 ways to do this however I would strongly suggest a call to support to get the official response. First, you could add the new path as 'new' NAS media. You would add this 'new' media to the existing media folder. If you compact the existing NAS media the files will be fetched back to the extended drive at which point they'll be sent to the 'new' NAS media. I've used compaction quite a few times in the optical world and it works well.

A second option may be to simply copy the files NAS to NAS. Simply updating the DX registry with the new path should allow you to mount the new path. Again, check with support on the best practice here.
