Error Code: 16698 XERR_MEDIA_SERVICE_REMOTE_ERROR
Good morning - I am not sure what I did wrong or failed to do, but whatever assistance I can get will be greatly appreciated.
Scenario - We have a Plasmon G-Enterprise Jukebox at a remote site with 20 30GB UDF disks (5 of which are full). At a second remote site we just replaced a Plasmon M20 Jukebox with a Plasmon G32 Jukebox and loaded it with 20GB UDF disks with the intention of these disks being a 1 to 1 copy of the disks at the primary remote site. We have been running this type of configuration for some time using 9GB disks (not UDF).
We use Mediastor and DiskXtender to manage these jukeboxes and backup process. We are currently at version 6.10.040.
I initiall had trouble simply swapping the 2 jukeboxes out. I ended up having to delete/recreate the jukebox in MediaStor to get past that. I was able to successfully load the new media, add them to the application pool and label/configure them as copy media assigned to their respective media on the primary jukebox. (At least everything I saw indicates this... did I mention that I have never done any of these tasks before?)
The backup from the primary jukebox to this jukebox is scheduled to run nightly at 11pm. The backup job did start to run on time, but when I showed up for work I see the following errors on 4 disks:
Error code: 16698 XERR_MEDIA_SERVICE_REMOTE_ERROR
a media error was detected on the remote service
In MediaStor, the status for the two disks is "ONLINE - COPY UPDATE IN PROGRESS"
In DiskXtender, the task manager indicates that the "COPY UPDATE" task has failed. When ok'ing out of the properties of the task I get a message indicating that the task is still in progress....
What did I do wrong????? Help???
