DX NAS

My post should be for DX NAS but I don't see a forum for that here so I am posting my queries here. I have to implement DX-NAS on a Windows server. The queries are:

1. What security permissions do we need to have on Celerra for a DX-NAS account?
2. What is the offline destination directory while configuring the Migration Job? How is it different from the destination directory?

Hi Anuj,

you haven't said what will your secondary storage be - CIFS (possibly Celerra itself) or Centera. Basically, you have to authorize the connection using "fs_dhsm...connection" command, but that is one command in the entire procedure that leads to establishing DHSM functionality.

If you mean which permissions does DXNAS account have to hold - its domain admin - as it has to be able to connect to and remove data from Celerra shares.

Offline destination directory is Celerra-specific DHSM-defined share from which the data has to be archived from.

You are aware that the DXNAS is EOL'd as of 1.10.2008, meaning you will not be able to buy it after that date, and that its "replaced" with Rainfinity products?

best regards,
Mladen
