DiskXtender MediaStor error 16529, XERR_LIBRARY_DEV_ILLEGALREQUEST
Greetings,
Product: DiskXtender MediaStor
Version: 6.10.040
Server Description
Server : IBM x346
Server OS : Windows Server Std 2003 R2
Tape Library Description
Tape Library Model: IBM 3584
Tape Drive: LTO3
We have installed and configured DiskXtender MediaStor on one of the Server, to perform Data Archival to the WORM Tape. The installation and configuration were done on August 2007. We have tested the Data Archival to the WORM Tape successfully.
However, we found out that the configuration done on the DiskXtender MediaStor was missing, during our preparation to perform the implementation yesterday. We, than proceed to re-configure the MediaStor, by assigning the tape library and the tape drive to be used, to perform the Data Archival. Upon the re-configuration, we restarted the Server and proceed to set the tape to ONLINE. However, MediaStor reported an error stating, Error Number: 16529, Error: XERR_LIBRARY_DEV_ILLEGALREQUEST, Description: An illegal request was sent to the device.
We have also perform a clean re-installation of the MediaStor and the problem still persists.
There were no changes made to the environment, and the tape library and tape drive configured in MediaStor ,are not being used by any other application. We have followed the similar configuration done previously.
Please advice the reason of this type of error to occur, and provide us a solution ASAP.
Appreciate for any help and assistance.
Thank You

IBM Ultrium LTO3 (IBM ULT3580-TD3) tape drive (WORM functionality now supported)
New features and changes
◆ IBM Ultrium 3583-TL tape library (The library¿s new multi-path/logical library partitioning feature is not currently
I would make sure that both DX and MediaStor are fully patched and then try to install the Library
