DiskXtender 6.2 Offline-Online-Offline

We have recently migrated DiskXtender from 4.2 to 6.2 and fortunately that was not as painful as expected, however now that we are on the new system our DiskXtender application has problems allowing our Extended Drive to stay online. IT appears to be online for awhile than goes offline with the following error message.

ERR 01/22 09:22:59 (0AAC) [Dm_Media.cpp, 2872] Unexpected internal error, please contact
technical support (87).
ERR 01/22 09:22:59 (0AAC) [Dm_DriverRequest.cpp, 1372] FATAL ERROR: Unable to log transaction
on extended drive D:. Extended drive will be set offline. Please
contact technical support (87).

I do have a support ticket in, but wanted to get some ideas from the community just in case anyone may have experienced this issue. Thank you for your support.

The DX on the new server was a new install and not an upgraded install from 4.2.

How did you migrate from 4.2 to 6.2? If I recall the format of the stub files changed along the way. Perhaps the older format is causing the service to set the drive offline.

Frank,

We moved the platters from our older jukebox to a new jukebox and went through the restore process on DX 6.2

I saw a few kb articles. Nothing looked too promising. Perhaps a few things to try:

1. Set the DX service account to local system. My theory being there's some kind of permission issue preventing DX from writing the transaction log to DXLogs or reading a file it needs.
2. Verify the recycle bin is disabled on the D drive. Right click on the recycle bin to access the options to disable.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thread seems to have been dead for a fair while now. Just thought I'd ask if you found a solution as I am experiencing the exact same thing. Only difference is I have not just upgraded, I've been on 6.20.020 for months.

Any pointers welcomed.

Cheers

Mark.
