Can't delete files from recycle bin
Hello,
Diskxtender v.6.1 on Windows. I'm having problems deleting certain files from the recycle bin. The error message I get is:
Failed to delete file K:\backup2\ces\courses\activity.css from recycle bin (5).
This error message isn't very useful, I just wondered if anyone else has seen this before and managed to fix it?
Thanks,
Sheppie

Looking in this folder, each deleted file seems to be represented by a folder with the same name as the file - in this case activity.css. The folder has full control permissions for everyone.
I'm not sure what I need to do to resolve this...

Is there just one file with that name or are there two files with that name in the Recycle bin?
Can you delete other files that are in the recycle bin?
What kind of file is this? could it still be in use by the system or an application and the real issue is a sharing violation?
IF you can try rebooting the server this will force whatever may be using that file to stop using it.

There is only one file with this name in the recycle bin.
I can delete other files in the recycle bin OK.
There are a number of files with this problem. They are of different types - eg. css, html, swf. I don't think they can still be in use by the system as they have been deleted.
Unfortunately I'm only allowed to reboot the server for patching so that isn't an option at the moment.
I can't understand how this could be a sharing violation as the file has been deleted and so doesn't exist in its original location for anything to use.
Thanks for your help.

This seems a bit stupid to me. Once a file has been deleted I don't care what the file permissions were, I should be able to delete it from the recycle bin if I am logged in with admin privileges.
This means a lot of work for me as the files are all over the place and our users commonly remove the everyone full control permission, leaving only themselves with full control over a file.
Oh well, thanks for your help both.
