Backups using BackupExec 12.5 have 0 byte files

I am using Backupexec 12.5 to backup one of my DX 6.2 SP1 servers.
All I see are 0 byte files when I try to restore. What can I do to correct this?
I have used NTbackup in the past and it worked fine.

We are a TSM shop so please bear with me when I perform these one off backups to migrate from server to server.

The stub files (metadata) have to be backed up or exported. The extended attributes will cause 0byte size if the backup solution isnt NTFS EA. Looks like BackupExec isnt NTFS/EA

Backup Exec has a utility called VSP (Volume Snapshot Provider) that can effectively back up all open files, even if they are locked and in use by an Application.

The VSP creates a Virtual Drive to store the VSP and the backup information.

On a DiskXtender server, these normally hidden Virtual drives show up in Windows Explorer as drive letters. They contain the exact same information as the real Extended drive as the VSP captures the MFT of the Extended drive. The serial number of the virtual drives is exactly the same as the serial number of the Extended drive.

Symptoms of problems with DX and VSP are that purged files will show in windows explorer as having zero bytes, and these files cannot be fetched from media until the VSP has been uninstalled and the server rebooted.

NOTE: VSP is not compatible with any version of DX prior to DX 6.3.

Check and see if the Volume Snapsnot Provider (VSP) is loaded?
Start -> run ->Winmsd. Go to "software environment" - System drivers
Search for VSP
