Thunderbolt ports in my monitor DELL U2724DE not working and not giving signal.

Hello, I have the exact same problem as many people. I’ve been searching online for hours and found nothing.

I’ve been working with two DELL 27 U2724DE monitors for about a year, both connected to my Mac. From time to time, the main monitor wouldn’t send a signal to my computer—I just had to unplug the Thunderbolt cable and reconnect it, and it would work again.

But this week, one of the monitors stopped working completely. The Thunderbolt ports don’t work anymore, and the 90W port no longer provides power to my laptop. It’s so frustrating.

I connected my laptop to the second monitor, and all of its ports are working fine. I did find a workaround to get the damaged monitor working—via HDMI. The HDMI port on that monitor still works. So now, I connect my MacBook to the working monitor, and on that same monitor, I use a USB-C to HDMI high-speed cable to get both monitors working again.

I don’t know what happened to the main monitor—the Thunderbolt ports are completely dead. It’s not a firmware issue. I had the latest version (M2T105 for Mac), then rolled back to M2T103, but no luck. The second monitor that’s working has firmware M2T101. I won’t upgrade it—I have no idea if that’s related to the problem. I tried to find the M2T101 driver to install on the broken monitor to test, but I couldn’t find it. Such a shame.

I think I’ll take the faulty monitor to a service center in my city—we have a lot of good technicians here. Maybe the Thunderbolt ports are just physically damaged.

Did anybody here manage to find a solution?
