XPS 200 or 400

Hi,
My son will be going off to college in a month.  Which computer should I get him...the XPS 200 or 400?  And why?
Thanks,
John

Though the XPS 200 has a smaller case, and looks nice, it can only handle a small video card ( Half Height ) that will fit, and not any of the better ones, if he is planning on playing games.  The XPS 400 is more future proof, and can handle more upgrades than the 200.  Dell will release some newer systems that have the new Conroe cpu sometime in a week or so, and if you can hold off on this as well, do so.  The newer cpu is faster, produces less heat, and again will be more future proof.

I agree,   If I was going to a college, the XPS 400 would be more suitable, check out the following,

You should check with his college before you buy anything. The school might require a laptop that can access the college's network instead of a desktop and the bookstore might have deals on computers with the required XP Pro OS.
