Slow Loading after fixing Blue Screen error
Recently I had a blue screen error (listed below) that I figured out how to fix.
(Blue Screen Error: Driver_IRQL-not_less_or equal - bridge.sys - Address F6878BA6 base at F68750000, Datestamp 3d6ddc9f) it was an 0x0D1 error, not an 0x0A error.
BUT now when my computer loads up it takes over 3 mins. for programs like Norton Anti-virus and Firewall to load. Also the connection to my APC battery backup doesn't load for over 3 mins. (to explain what I did with the Blue Screen error: I found out that it was my network bridge that was causing the problem. This error came out of the blue one day and it took me 3 days to figure it out. But now my computer is running slow or at least loading up certain things very slow which in turn slows down everything else). I was told this was a Memory error meaning something was trying to access the same memory sector with out authentication. I don't know if my network is still causing a problem or what. I don't really have anything attached to my "home" network other than a network hub right now.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm frustraited with this since this is a fairly new computer and the Dell e-mail service hasn't been much help.
Recently installed programs and updates: Windows ofcourse, Alcohol 120% (coping software), had to restore Dell's drivers for Audigy 2 sound card, Updated PowerDVD with Dell's update.
Computer Info: Dimensions 8300, 3.0 Ghz Pent. 4 w/800Mhz FSB, 80 GB hard Drive, 1 GB DDR SDRAM, 128MB Radeon 9800 video, Audigy 2 sound card, Windows XP pro, Sony DRU-510A DVD writer, DVD-rom.
HELP?!?

I have already tried this. It doesn't work. Meaning I can't even get it to do the repair.
I go through all the steps and than the black screen comes up and asks me for the Administrator password (which I have) and than it just sits there with the prompt C:windows\. Nothing happens.
Any other ideas. Since this NEVER works. I have tried several times.
Thanks

motch6,
Have you tested the system with the Dell customer diagnostics to see if there is a problem with the hard drive? The hard drive may be failing and just be barely functioning.

Yes I have done a FULL diagnostic test. Nothing showed errors.
Last night I was able to diagnois where the problem is. I found that the problem is still coming from my network adapter. (this is now embeded on the mother board so I can't simply pull the network card).
All I have done is unpluged it from the the Hub and disabled the netwark device. (Inetel... something).
So now Should I go to a message board to fix a problem with the netwark device or can someone help me here?
thanks

this is a link to a regedit program that finds problems in your systems registry and fixes them. it's worth a shot, it can't only do 5 at a time unless you register the software, but there are other out there, I forgot the one I use at home thats free, when I get ther e I might host it for you on my site to download. (didn't try this before my reinstall)
If that doesn't work, there is a program that can track your boot log, anyway, long story short, I tried it but it didn't work for me. everything booted, it just didn't allow windows to be clickable for like 2 min. Try searching for a program to do that, sorry I am bad with names so I can't remember....
At worst, you will have to reinstall, I had to and it now works fine, I also tried a restore but that didnt' work as i moved my drives and it was restoring the wrong drive, dope!
