Perplexing Dimension 3000 Question....

I had to do a complete re-install on my Dim 3000 today and am currently experiencing massive problems.  First, my monitor is unable to properly reset itself up so I downloaded (by way of my Latitude) the driver for my monitor. However, when I go to the screen to update the driver, it won't let me click on "driver" and is, in fact, grayed out. I've never seen this before and don't know how to proceed to update the driver. It blocks me at every turn!

Also, apparently the OS is unable to see any networking hardware, as well. I've re-installed XP three (3!) times now and am still getting the problems. What am I missing here?

Any assistance will be definitely appreciated!

Have you installed the D-3000 drivers and applications? The Dell Desktop System Software is the first one to install, then the Chipset driver.
