Loud, random "Car Skidding" noise.

About every 30 or so minutes, a strange, loud, mechanical noise comes from my 1 week old Dimension 4800. The best way I can describe the noise is a car skidding. The noise lasts about 1.5 seconds each time and does not seem to correlate to any specific CPU workload. It sometimes makes the noise while idle, other times while working. Any ideas as to what this is? Is this normal?

From the box itself, or from the speakers?  If it's from the box, use an old mechanic trick to find out where:  grab a rubber tube, hold one end to your ear, and move the other end around the box.  You'll be able to isolate where the sound id coming from.
