Inspiron 530s - standby / hybernate problem

Hi,

When I put my new pc in hybernate / standby mode (I don't know the correct name; the first button after you click on start) it goes in standby but it immediatly starts up again ?
Sometimes a few minutes, but it doesn't stay longer - does somebody know how I can resolve this so I can put my computer in standby / hybernate mode?

It would really help! =)

this can be caused by a few things.

first thing to check is your network adapter. It is probably set to wake on lan. Open network connections and right click on your network connection, select properties. the next window will pop up with a box to click to check your adapter configurations. Go through the listing looking for anything that will mention wake the computer.

Another can be your firewall/av or windows update. But usually they do not run that frequently. That it why I am leaning more towards the network adapter.

IF you are using wireless the same thing will apply
