Dimension 4700 will not boot?
I am new to the forum but need help bad. My computer started up and did a chkdsk. After it completed and started to reboot it went back to doing a chkdsk again, but this time it just stopped doing anything. I tried to restart it but it does the same thing. I even tried to boot in safe mode, it just takes long to end up doing the same thing and freezes. I also tried to boot with a windows cd, nothing???? Any help would be great.

Is the power button LED, solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber?
Check the reading of the diagnostic LIGHTS on the back panel?
Are there any error messages, if so, please post the exact text of them?

Sounds like you have a failed hard drive, you would need to replace it with a new SATA 3.5" 7200rpm hard drive and reload XP, drivers and applications
