what part of the computer should I replace to clear all memory?

I want to wipe out the entire memory on my computer and start fresh. I don't want to use a wipe program, I want to change out the hardware that contains all of the memory.

Is there a certain part that contains all the memory in the computer?

Can I remove it and replace it with a new one?

Will dell sell me this part new?

Will I be able to reload windows and all the stuff I got with my computer when it was new (I still have all the disks) and have it work fine?

I think you are talking about replacing the harddrive, but you may want to ask this in the desktop or laptop are, depending on what kind of system you have.

For a better answer you'll also want to add information about what model Dell you have (e.g. Inspiron 9200 laptop or Dimension 8200 desktop).

Thanks for your reply. I'll ask in the desktop forum.
