WD Raptor 10000 RPM Hard Drive

I have a Dell Dimension 9150 XPS400.

Will a Raptor 10000 RPM Hard Drive ATA-150 or ATA-300 be compatible to replace my existing C: boot drive ?

Thank you

Hi Zippy42, Your manual is HERE, you current drive is a sata. So there will be no problems using that drive.

Thank you for the information.

I notice that the Raptor drives are either ATA-150 or ATA-300 Serial Interface but I don't really know what that means. Is it of any significance to me ? Also are there any heat or power supply issues I need to consider for these 10000 rpm drives ?

Thank you

Hi Zippy42, The 150 and 300 mean, megabytes per second (MBPS). My hard drive had an jumper on it, but i found that it was set to factory default, so i removed the jumper, so it runs at 300mbps. You wont have any heat problems, your PSU will handle that new hard drive with no problems.
