Vista desktop XP laptop and file sharing problems

Ok, I can send file and print wireless from the xp laptop to the vista desktop. I have file sharing and printer sharing turned on both systems and I have the vista system password turned off. I can see each computer from each system. When I try to move files from the vista system to the xp system it asks for user name and password. I never set one up and can't  get it to go from there.
