Virtual Disks to be used by both servers
Here is what my client would like but I don't know if it is possible.
We are running Win200 Enterprise in a cluster with an AX150i connected. Added to new 750Gb drives, created a Disk Pool, assigned it to both servers.
We created a Cluster Group, assigned an IP address and the Physical Disk to the cluster group. Now it is owned by one server at a time.
The client would like the new virtual disk to be seen by both servers and accessible without creating a cluster file share resource as this means each server would mount the fileshare name in order to access the same disk space regardless of where the cluetsr group resides.
So, basically they want each server to see the disks and not use the network interface to map drives as this increases the network interface traffic.
Am I making sense?

Giving a disk to non-clustered Windows server will corrupt data, so that's not an option either.
You may need to look for other cluster solutions. Looking at the EMC support matrix (for ideas), NEC has something called ClusterPro and something called Express Cluster. From a company called Steeleye there seems to be a product called Lifekeeper for Windows. There's always the option to use Oracle clustering, but this would only be useful if you were intending to run an Oracle DB setup to start with.
