Unable to destroy a virtual Disk - DELL EMC AX150

Hi All

I've not used our Dell EMC AX150 for ages as its hardly ever used.

I want to start doing some tests and scenarios and wanted to destroy the virtual disk I had setup a while ago.

From the Web View Navisphere Express page I goto Virtual Disks | Virtual Disk 1 | Destroy Virtual Disk | YES to destroy the disks

I then get a message stating:

The destruction of the virtual disk failed.   Unable to destroy the virtual disk 'Virtual Disk 1'. An installed software package must be committed before this command can be accepted

Does anyone know what the "software package" is that I need to commit and where I can find this please?

I've never had problems like this before with this unit, i normally destroy the disks then create another one, job done!  But its starting to be a right pain!

Hope you can help

Thanks

If you're running the full Navisphere Manager (not Navisphere Express), right click the AX150, select properties, go to the software tab, pick the current flare package (would say that a commit is required still), and click the commit button. This would take a minute or 2, and then you should be able to delete the virtual disk/lun.

If you're using Navisphere Express, check the software details (Services -> System Software Details). Look for any odd messages there.

Also, check the current flare version.

If it's not 02.20.150.5.026, I'd suggest to try an upgrade (software available from here). After the upgrade, try to delete the virtual disk again.

Thanks for you for your reply.

I did try to upgrade the software yesterday to AX150_Series-Bundle-02.20.150.5.027 but it failed.  I tried it again today and left it for over an hour.  It has finally managed to upgrade the software successfully.

I've now since been able to destroy the virtual disks!

Thanks for your help
