Unable to change IP via console MD3200i

Here's what I do:

Service Interface Main Menu
==============================

1) Display IP Configuration
2) Change IP Configuration
3) Reset Storage Array Administrator Password
4) Display 7-segment LED codes
Q) Quit Menu

Enter Selection: 2

Enable IPv4? (Y/N) : y

Configure using DHCP ? (Y/N): y

Failed to change the IP Configuration using DHCP

Enable IPv6? (Y/N) : y

This happens with both static and DHCP.. When I set it to static, it doesn't prompt me to enter an IP address. It errors out.

When I try to view the IP, nothing happens at all, and the main service menu reloads. Has anyone experienced this before?

Hey there,

I guess you are using Serial Shell. What terminal emulation program are you using? You need to use terminal settings 115200-8-n-1. Then in Putty you need to use and then when prompted for input within five seconds, press for the service interface menu (case sensitive). After entering the password. You should have this options:

1) Display IP Configuration
2) Change IP Configuration
3) Reset Storage Array (SYMbol) Password
Q) Quit Menu

Regards.

Well.. it should be working.. maybe it's a problem of the cable or the serial port.

You can try a couple of things, like replacing the RAID controler and use the auto discover. Or use a hyperterminal connection to the primary controller and use the command netCfgShow to get the IP of the address controler.

Then with this IP you can use MDSM and connect to the MD3200i where you can find both IPs for the controllers and change them on te MDSM setup.

Regards.
