TCG Enterprise SSC SAS Drives Locked - PSID Revert Not Working, Need Unlock Assistance
I purchased two Dell EMC OEM Seagate Exos X16 12TB SAS drives (P/N 118000937, firmware VV08)
and they appear to be locked by a Dell EMC array (Unity/SC series). I no longer have access
to the original array.
Drive details:
- Model: STENSKF3CLAR12T0 (Seagate Exos X16 12TB SAS, Dell EMC OEM)
- Firmware: VV08
- Drive 1 Serial: ZL2LLPXA | PSID: YH1G08DV51G1E0HGE6YZMYDSWEFXD590
- Drive 2 Serial: ZLW2CFPM | PSID: L0CJU6XPWP5FBP4F9JACFEHYVS79JC39
Symptoms:
- Both drives report 0 bytes capacity
- All read/write commands return "Device not ready"
- sg_format, sg_sanitize, and openSeaChest all fail
- SeaChest_Security --revertSP with PSID returns "not supported on this device"
- sedutil-cli rejects drives (TCG Enterprise SSC, not Opal)
I have the PSIDs from the drive labels and am willing to provide any additional
diagnostic output. Is there a Dell EMC tool or process to perform a PSID revert
on TCG Enterprise SSC drives outside of a Unity/SC array? Any guidance would be
greatly appreciated.
