Service Request:
We have 60 x Seagate 10TB SAS Drives - Model#: ST10000NM002G. There seems to be no drivers available for the PowerVault MD3260. Our powervault is connected to a PowerEdge server running Windows 2019 Server. The Seagate drives work perfect when directly connect to the PowerEdge server. However, they are categorized as "unrecognized" by the PowerVault controller interface.
Appreciate any help.

Hello ncb0606,
The drives that you have purchased are not listed on the support matrix and there for will not work with your MD3260. Here is the link to the support matrix and you will need to get drives from this list to ensure that your MD3260 can see them & use them. Supported drives are listed on pages 18-26. https://dell.to/3CjHuZq

Understood. However, it seems that drivers are released for new hard drives, including Seagate models, from time to time, that are not on that list. I am not sure how the process/timing is determined, but I am curious if you plan to release drivers for the ST10000NM002G model.
Alternatively, I am just trying to do a JBOD setup. Is their a setting where I can bypass the controller and utilize the windows drivers?
Just trying to make it work... any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello ncb0606,
When it comes to MD3xxx drives there is a special firmware that is put on the drives that makes it so that they are seen by the controller. The firmware is put on at the factory and cannot be added afterwards. That is why the drives have to be on the list in order to be seen.
In order to use it as a jbod you would need to get a set of EMM’s. You would need to get the MD1200 emm’s and then you could make it work.
