Physical disks in compatibility matrix for PowerVault MD1220
Hello all. I have an out-of-warranty PowerVault MD1220 that I'm trying to add some drives to.
I consulted the matrix for supported physical disks in the following guide:
https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/powervault-md1200_support-matrix_en-us.pdf
I noticed that the firmware revision of the drives I ordered differs from what is listed in the matrix:
Seagate ST2000NX0433 FW ver. N004
The matrix shows NS02 as the required firmware.
How can I ensure I'm ordering this same drive with the correct firmware version?
Thanks!

Hello Nathan Dattler,
When looking for a replacement drive for your MD1220, you want to make sure that the drive has a Dell Part# that is on the support matrix. If the drive part# is on the support matrix, then the drive should have the correct firmware on it so that your MD1220 should be able to read it & upgrade the firmware to the correct version that is needed. If the drive doesn’t have a Dell part# on it from the support matrix then it most likely will not work.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Yes, I realized this after investigating further. Our retailer is getting together a quote for the correct drives. Thank you for your quick reply.
