ML6000 and AX4.5 SAN

Hi,

I have a ML6000 that is on an AX-4.5 SAN and I'm having trouble getting the Backup Exec server to see it. I can ping the ML from the server but neither the 'unknown media changer' or either of the LTO drives shows up in Device Manager. The drives are FC and there are no errors on the unit itself. It does have a control path listed on one of the drives (the other is a bad drive) over to Backup Exec

I inherited this system and I apologize for the knowledge gap - How will my server see this device if it isn't directly connected.

Thanks!

Hello mjprophet1,

It is best to connect the ML6000 to a switch along with the AX4-5. The reason is that with the ML6000 while yes it can be direct connected to a host acts as the target. What you will need to do is to zone both devices into the same zone with the AX 4-5 and the ML6000 and the Host so that all can be seen correctly. Here is a link to our install guide as well as the users guide.
