Mirrorview/A: Can a previous session be resumed after a local promote?
Hi,
If we did a planned fracture, and a local promote of the secondary site Mirrorview image, can the session be resumed to synchronize the delta, once the DR site testing is over ? Or do we have to delete the now "active" DR site image LUN, and create a secondary for the session from primary site ? If a fresh session cannot be avoided, what is the best method for planned DR testing without local promote ? I cannot find any literature on this area to answer my precise question.
any assistance/ suggestions on this regard is welcome.

Hello radiohead_fan,
Which EMC system do you have, as you didn’t state that in your post? What is the current OE, Flare, or firmware version that is on your system?

Hello radiohead_fan,
Thanks for the information. When a mirror is fractured, the private SnapView sessions on the secondary will still exist and will be used when the mirror synchronization is restarted. Here is a link to a KB that has other links as well that maybe of assistance. https://dell.to/3IdIxNC

Hi Dell-Sam L,
While the documents give a good insight on some of the scenarios, unfortunately it doesn't tell us whether/how an administratively fractured mirror, upon being mirrored can be resync'd.
At this moment, I am contemplating if I should open an SR with the query, or I should carry out a test mirror.
