ME5 ISCSI Controller change Swap copper/fiber

We currently have an ME5012 with ME424 expansion units, running on 10G Copper ISCSI Controllers. We would like to transition it to 10G Fiber Controllers and maintain the pools/volumes that exist. Question1: given the module similarity is it possible to do a live swap of the ISCSI controllers (one at a time) to transfer all the config/meta-data. or Question 2) can we detach the storage from the hosts, shut it down, and replace a/the module(s) with the fiber modules? Even if the ISCSI and host configuration needs to be re-configured, the big question is if we swap the controllers, will the pools and volumes be recognized and usable.
