Installing Intel internal Hard-drive
I'm not sure if i'm in the right forum but i'm trying to add storage to my dell xps desktop. It is an intel hard-drive I bought from dell.com. Thought it was simply a matter of putting it in the desktop and downloading drivers. However the computer reconized it automatically as a back up drive (RAID??) and started backing up all the data on the exsisitng C drive. I just wanted it to add more storage space. Obviously I'm in over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated, since when I called DELL they weren't willing to help since my desktop is over a year old (and the warranty is expired) but I bought the hard drive a few weeks ago. Really don't want it to go to waste, so any insight would be great.:emotion-12:

You posted in the Dell|EMC (SAN) Storage forum. Are you wanting to add a harddrive to a Dell|EMC SAN? If so, which model SAN and what is the EMC partnumber for the drive?
If you have a question about a desktop or laptop, I'd suggest to post in one of those areas for a faster answer.

No it is not a EMC - just a regular XPS desktop. I will try another topic. Not to familiar with message boards either, so I just saw storage and figured I would try and post here..lol. Thank you for your reply though
