im can change battery in VNX5300 and will recognize easy ?

dear members

 

if i replace a problem battery with a good battery will the storage work up normally?

and if i insert new discs, will they be recognized and can i use them?

Hello Almir,

If you replace the battery with the same type as the failed battery, your system will do a battery test, and once that is complete then your system should be optimal.  For your hard drives you will need to make sure that they are on the support matrix as approved for your VNX5300.  If they are showing as supported, then you can use them.

It depends on if the batteries are the reason they are down or something else is also going on.

my two SPs are faulted and my luns are offline

im have discs in rebuild too

after change batteries my luns will bring online?

You would have to look at the logs and see what the cause for them being offline is.

I remember that I had a battery working before turning off the storage. and after connecting again the two batteries appears with failure 

but I have discs in stock ..... the problem may be in the disks?
if the problem is not with the battery im can with those discs can bring lun online ????

Please open SSH connection to the Control Station IP address.
Run the following commands:

/nas/sbin/navicli -h spa faults -list
/nas/sbin/navicli -h spb faults -list

Hello Almir,

Did u gather a set of sp collect logs prior to changing your SPS?  When you replaced the sps did you re connect the sense cables to your SPS? If the system is booting, then you should be able to login and get the sp collect logs.
