How to measure performance and usability of ax150i
Hi all.
Is there any way to check how much of ax150i is used?
When I say used I don't mean on available disk space. I would like to see how much of cpu and system resources are used, how much I/O requests are coming from all servers connected and so on.
Can I check this via SNMP or via some dell/emc tool?
The reason why I want to check this is to be sure if we need another SAN or not, so if this one is under heavy load to buy another one in right time to prevent failure.
Tnx for help
Regards
Amar

To be able to see detailed performance info (like processor utilization, iops, etc), you need Navisphere Analyzer. This is an option when running Navisphere Manager (upgrade from Navisphere Express), but the first AX-series system to allow installing analyzer was the AX4-5; the AX100/AX150 don't have this option.
So the only way to see iops is from the server side and as for processor utilization I don't think there'll be a way to find that out.

With perform, while the system is in full produciton.
Look at Disk Queue and Percent Disk.
With I/O meter or something similar look at latency and random I/O read numbers.
These tests will have assume no network issues with the san.
Probably doesn't help, but I think that is the best you can do with this model SAN.
Now my most important matrix is does the system stink or not? I mean, you can tell if servers are performing well or not usually while normal production is taking place. Generally if nothing is irratating you all is well. :)
