EMC2 AX 150 Not discovered by Navisphere Initialization wizard

Hi All,

Had some trouble getting the right drivers for the Qlogic Fiber Channel cards on the 2950, however that is corrected and the EMC2 is directly connected by fiber to the server(Poweredge 2950) yet for some reason the discovery process still cant see it, any ideas on how to correct this?

I assume you're trying to 'discover' the array using the Navisphere Initialization Utility?

This needs to have access to the 2 management (ethernet) ports on the array. You run this from a system on the same switch/vlan as the system you're running the application from. If your server is not running Windows, I suggest using a laptop or desktop running Windows to do this (so you don't have to figure out which port in the firewall you need to open or (temporarily kill iptables completely).

Once discovered, you set the IP addresses (if you have a dual processor unit, but only see 1 storage processor to set an IP address on, stop and fix the networking issue or non-booting storage processor before continuing) with the initialization utility.

Then in the Navisphere webinterface (IP address(es) you set in the initlization utility) you create the virtual disk(s), register the server's fibre channel card(s) and assign the disk to the server.

Remember to install Powerpath and I'd suggest to also install the Navisphere Server Utility.
