Disc Space

My disc space is shrinking fast.  How do I get rid of whatever is taking up so much space. I'm sure that lots of whatever is not all that important. Please help, as my computer is getting so slow.

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:

What system do you have?  What OS are you using?

I suspect the primary culprits are system restore points, and junk/temporary files?

You can delete all but the latest system restore point by doing the following:

Start --> [All] Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Cleanup.
Allow it to scan C:\, and in the new window which opens, click 'More Options', then the Cleanup button under 'System Restore Points and Shadow Copies'.
Confirm you want to proceed with the cleanup.

And you can get rid of any junk/temporary files, by running one of the most useful system utility programs ever released (and it's FREE!) - namely CCleaner :emotion-11:

Doing both of those, should not only free up LOTS of hard drive space, but fix any registry issues (which can be one cause of system slow-downs), and hopefully lead to you seeing a fairly significant increase in overal speed?

If they don't... then it's probably time to restore your system to its factory settings, or reformat the hard drive, and reinstall the OS :emotion-55:
