Dell PowerEdge 1955 and Brocade Switch

Hi-

I am connecting my Dell 1955 which has Mcdata Switch to my Existing SAN Switch which is Borcade. and i get the following error.

[1003.002F]Interop Zoning Not Supported by remote switch.

On searching the net i found out that this  issue is due to the interop mode settings on the Switches. My Mcdata Switch has the Inetop Setting as standard while my Brocade switch has a setting in  Brocade Mode.

So is there  way by which i can connect the two fabrics without changing my settings on the existing Brocade Switch as it is in Production.

If i chnage the setting on the brocade to standard will it affect my existing setup.

I don't believe this is possible.

To change the interop mode on a Brocade you have to disable the switch (killing all IO) and then change the interop mode. After this you re-enable the switch.

Obviously, prior to making any changes back up the config first, just in case.
