Dell Equallogic PS 6100 controller warning
Hello - I have a Dell Equallogic PS 6100 with a controller warning 'communication between the active and secondary controllers failed'. I looked up the part # 8P6TX and ordered a refurbished controller. When it arrives is the controller hot swapable? And will any configuration need to be done? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Hello Jeff,
The controllers are hot swappable. What you will need to do is to make sure that the controller is either failed or marked as secondary prior to removing it out the chassis. Once the bad controller is removed you will want to remove the SD card from your bad controller and insert on the replacement controller. then you can insert the replacement controller into your PS6100.
