DELL DATASAFE RIPPED ME OFF
One night in May of 11, I was contemplating what to do after my external hard drive died. I remembered hearing about dell datasafe when I bought my computer a couple years back. So I thought it would be quick and easy to go online and sign up for it and back up my computer. I signed up for it for 29 bucks and then had to add 10 bucks to that because it said I needed more space. I started the back up process and long story short it didn't work. It started, but then just froze. I changed my mind and figured I'd just buy another external hard drive. So THE SAME NIGHT I hit the "cancel and get full refund" button. I never received an email confirming that. I should back up and say in my welcome email I never got an "order number." I waited two weeks, NO REFUND. So I called and got transfered a couple times, and they all want an order number. I've talked to "customer service" so many times and every time they act confused or refer me to an outside company who has no record of me. I've emailed supervisors, and sent in documentation of the money being taken out of my account. Each time they say they'll forward it to their manager and someone will call me back. Nothing gets resolved. They will not refund my money. I realize it's only 39 dollars, but it makes me livid that this is a huge company that can't do a basic return. I got absolutely zero product for my 39 dollars. It's like a fake product, there's no one behind the curtain selling it. I would expect this from some random company I've never heard of - but DELL??? So, there's my warning to add to the rest... Oh I forgot, and one time they told me the refund would only be 29 dollars, since the 10 dollars was for an upgrade. Never got any of it.

Datasafe has nothing to do with DAS (direct attached storage, like an MD1200 connected to a PERC H800), NAS (Network attached storage like a Powervault NX3500), or SAN (storage area network, like a Dell Equallogic PS-series array).
Datasafe is a piece of software that comes with your desktop or laptop Dell computer. I'd suggest to post it in the desktop or laptop software section.

You posted in the Dell|EMC section. Dell Datasafe shouldn't be used to back up the data from your Dell|EMC SAN array. Instead you want to use a tape library or so.
If you don't have a Dell|EMC (SAN) array, I suggest to post in a more appropriate section (e.g. desktop or laptop area).

Dev Mgr, the forum description says this is the section for Dell storage solutions, *including* DAS, NAS, SAN. Delldatasafe is a Dell storage solution, or at least it would be if Dell was willing to support it.
