Dell 600SC rear fan error
Hi,
We have a Dell 600SC a couple of weeks ago report a rear fan error. We change the fan for a new one and is working
perfect but the server continue reporting a rear fan error went we reboot it and we need to press F1 to continue.
How can we eliminate that error? We check the Bios configuration and we cant find how to deactivate the error.
Any idea how to eliminate the error?
Thanks

You cannot turn off the circuit that trips the error - did you use a Dell fan? A non-Dell fan will not complete the circuit, which requires the thermistor be on the fan.

By the way, after you replace the fan you should remove power completely from the system. Hit the power button a couple times with the power cord unplugged so that you drain all power from the motherboard (u might hold the power putton down for ten seconds with the power cord unplugged). Then plug the power in again, enter BIOS by pressing F2, press escape. Then reboot again.

I've got a Dell 600SC and I was getting an error about the CPU fan. I fixed the issue with the fan and then to clear/deactivate the error with F1 I had to enter BIOS using F2, then I exited by pressing escape and I never saw the error message anymore. Does that get rid of your error?
