Controller event log: Enclosure PD 00(c 0/p0) temperature sensor 2 differential detected: Controller 0 (PERC 6/E Adapter)
Hi!
Following system:
PE R610, OS Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Ed. with PERC 6/E Adapter. A MD1000 is connected to the PERC 6/E Adapter.
Since a few days I get this warning message:
Controller event log: Enclosure PD 00(c 0/p0) temperature sensor 2 differential detected: Controller 0 (PERC 6/E Adapter)
The only information I found about this message is on eventid.net and says, that the cause is unkown and that the message disappears after reboot.
It seems that the message actually disappears after reboot, but now I have this message:
Controller event log: Unexpected sense: Encl PD 00 Path 50026b923426620c, CDB:
1c 01 a0 00 04 00, Sense: 5/35/01: Controller 0 (PERC 6/E Adapter)
It's only informational, but a little bit strange. What means "unexpected sense"?
The storage in the MD1000 shows no failures. But I'm afraid that this messages are the first indication of a serious problem. And this server is a critical SQL-Server.
So my question is, what this messages means?
Best regards

Hello Barbara,
What would be best to determine your error is if you can run a Dset on the server to get a better description of the error. You can download the Dset tool from here if you don’t have it already.

Once the Dset finishes you can either reply to me directly and I can review it or you can contact dell support & another tech can review the report.
Let us know if have any other issues.

Hello Sam,
I have uploaded the DSET-file to the dropbox you send me. (Our Exchange is down today in the morning, I don't know when it will comes up again. So I cannot send and receive emails at this moment)

Hello Barbara,
I have reviewed the Dset that you have sent and the error is happening due to some miss communication from the PERC 6e and the System board. This is happening due to the PERC6e firmware and drivers are newer then the system board bios for the R610. Here is a link to download and update the bios & life cycle controller for the R610.

Hello Sam,
I installed BIOS 6.3 und Life Cycle Controller 1.5.5.27, but the message about "unexpected sens" still remains.
Best regards
