Connecting Dell PE610 servers to MD3200i SAN
I have successfully connected one of our 3 Dell PE610 servers via 2 switch's to the MD3200i SAN. I am able to add LUNs and configure virtual machines etc on one server. I am however unable to get the other two servers to connect to the MD3200i SAN. The server that I have connection with has the Dell SAN Management softeware installed but I am connected via the iSCSI software on this server. This server is connected to RAID Module 0 port 0, not able to assign the RAID Module 1 port 0 even though it is connected. Each server has two NICs dedicated to iSCSI traffic
The other two servers only have the Dell Host software installed and so far I cannot seem to get the iSCSI software to communicate wth the MD3200i. I have added each server as a host via the Dell Management software.
My question is can you have more than one iqn accessing the same SAN?
Do you have to create separate groups on the SAN and assign each server to a particular group (access) LUN?
The RAID modules are configured with the default IP scheme from Dell.
192.168.130.101 & 102 (server 1 connected here and wroking on RAID module 0 port 0)
192.168.131.101 & 102 (server 2 not able to conenct)
192.168.132.101 & 102 (server 32 not able to connect)
etc etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thanks

One more thing when you say separate LUNs do you mean separate access LUNs? I see server one has 2 Luns assigned one for the virutal machine and one that says access LUN 31.

Thank you Kenny!!
I will review this pdf you recommended and give that a try. We are not implementing a cluster so having separate LUNs for each host has to be it. I saw an error on the SAN console that lead me to believe that, but I was not completely sure.
thanks again!

If you are wanting to have all three servers access the same LUN then you will need to configure all three hosts into a cluster. If you want each host to have access to a separate LUN on the MD array then you will to create the separate LUNs and configure the iSCSI initiator for each LUN to each host. Below is the link for the MD3200i Deployment guide. It should also be helpful to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

When I say separate LUNs I mean separate virtual disks. Each server has to have its own virtual disk that it is mapped to.
