Configuring iscsi hba with PS5000, Dell 610r and Centos/RHEL 5.4, Broadcomm 5709 ISCSI offload
I can make iscsi connection trough real ethernet interfaces, but not trough ifaces. I would like to use offload properties of nic. I have not used hba before, but have used lot of time trying to figure this out. If anyone can help, I will be very happy. I am using Xen virtualization that comes with Centos 5.4 (3.0.3).
Thank you for any information,
Arto
I have following setup:
eth5 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:10:18:5B:EB:9E, inet addr:10.10.13.6 Bcast:10.10.13.255 Mask:255.255.255.0, TCP-offload off
eth4 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:10:18:5B:EB:9C, inet addr:10.10.13.5 Bcast:10.10.13.255 Mask:255.255.255.0, TCP-offload off

You may want to post in the Equallogic section for more visibility (as you have an Dell|Equallogic SAN and not a Dell|EMC SAN, however, last I remember seeing, Dell didn't support iSCSI offload on linux on those NICs. I thought it was limited to Windows only.
There was a thread of trying to get this to work, as HP uses the exact same models NICs, and they do offer iSCSI offload under linux. I don't remember the outcome of that thread.
