Change Management IP Address Remotely - AX100
For clarity, let me state that I do know the official procedure for changing the management IP on an AX100SC, but what I'm wondering is this:
I discovered that like some other EMC storage systems this URL exists for my AX100:
After logging in using the current administrator password I get a "Storage Processor Networking Configuration" page with sections for modifying the current IP address, creating accounts, restarting the system, etc..
So. . . does anyone know if this is functional and whether or not it's recommended to use it? I have an AX100 at a remote location and it would be nice not to have to coordinate the pressing of a button and explain how to use the Navisphere Utility with someone else.
Grateful in advance,
Ed

- go into the setup page of SPA
- select to destroy security and domain information
- go back to the setup page of SPA
- select to restart the management server
- go into the setup page of SPB
- select to destroy security and domain information
- go back to the setup page of SPB
- select to restart the management server
These previous steps are non-disruptive (they don't restart the storage processors).
At this time the best choice is to run the initialization utility to have it find the array (it'll be uninitialized (this just means it has no user and password)). Select next and set the new IP addresses. Then on the next screen you can re-define the username and password. You'll then get a summary and if you select finish it'll reboot the whole array (fully disruptive for fibre channel disk access).
