AX100i - SP reboot loop
I have an AX100i that has a service processor stuck in a reboot loop. Specifically, SP-A goes through the entire boot process including getting the drive parameters, then reboots and starts over. Nothing seems to stop it. SP-B works fine.
I've tried taking the boot disks from SP-B (slots 1 and 3) and putting them in to the slots for SP-A (0 and 2). No difference.
Question: it is at all possible that this reboot loop is related to there being no UPS on the system? IOW: Should I wire up a dummy plug and put it in the UPS connector (I don't have the UPS).

You need to call Dell|EMC support on this one.
Assuming the unit is registered with them in your (company's) name, support is lifetime (warranty has an expiration date though), meaning that you can call for assistance to troubleshoot and fix this, but if you're out of warranty they can't send parts if there's a hardware failure.
Also; don't move the first 4 drives around or so, it could cause permanent issues with the bootability of the unit.
